Blueberry Patch Hiawassee

Loved this place! Garry collected us from Dick's Creek Gap, we called 30mins prior to getting there although, despite being told otherwise, I had phone service at the gap. The hostel is a donation run Christian ministry and very relaxed. The inside bunk room was made with traditional wood materials and had a small kitchen area including fridge/freezer for hiker use. The shower/bathroom was a separate purpose built structure which was very nicely fitted out. Breakfast was taken inside the hostel owners (Gary and Lennie) house and was amazing! The homemade Blueberry syrup was great and Gary picks the blueberries from his hostel and only provides the syrup to hikers. There was a free shuttle into town for evening meals and resupply also back to the trail head. We could of stayed here instead of Budget Inn the first time we came into Hiawassee and I truly wish we did!

Great place to stay in Hiawassee! If for nothing else then go for the Blueberry syrup and pancake breakfast.
