Hikers Welcome Hostel

The Hikers Welcome Hostel is located very close to the trail just outside Glencliff New Hampshire. It as at the base of Mt. Moosilauke and a great place to stop and do a southbound slack pack. We ended up staying there for a zero as a mail drop with our winter gear was held up and didn't arrive when expected (It was FedEx that was delivering not USPS). Actually the post office is right across the road from the hostel and although it has limited opening it does deliver to the hostel. The hostel is basic, no cell phone signal, limited internet, no TV (but HUGE DVD library), outside shower and toilet. The accommodation is basic, both inside and tenting. However it was a great place to stay and nice rest stop before The Whites. There was a shuttle at least twice a day into Warren for resupply and pizza. The shuttle also would do longer runs and Legion (the manager) arranged slack pacing as needed even to as far as Lincoln. Meals were your own arrangements, there was no kitchen to use but the local gas station had a good section of food and a sandwich deli bar. Facebook
