Worth a stay
If you need to stay in the area then its worth calling for a shuttle. I suspect the prices will drop a bit from this year. Food was good and owner was very friendly.
This was a new hostel about 2.5mile from the AT. We met another hiker and heard about it so decided to stay. There was a sign on the AT directing us to call for a free shuttle, which I did and it arrived within minutes. The hostel is based at a store in the middle of nowhere, it thats how it appeared. The owner was very friendly and kept the store open late just for us. The was a cook and offered quick food to order such as burgers, fries etc. the store had some basic resupply items as well as soda and ice cream. The bunk room was basic, there was shower and laundry available. The only issue at the time was the beds had chicken wire for support and you had to sleep on your own pads. This meant people with air pads were reluctant to use the bed and slept on the floor. This was the owners first year and he was very receptive to suggestions, I suspect it will get better and better. The owner arranged a slack pack shuttle for us at minimum cost.
